CISAB members can reserve either the Ellen D. Ketterson Seminar Room or the William J. Rowland Reading Room.

The Ellen D. Ketterson Seminar Room located on the first floor of the CISAB House. Ellen Ketterson was the co-founder of CISAB. Ellen made seminal contributions to evolutionary biology, behavioral ecology, neuroendocrinology, and ornithology using her experimental approach in both lab and field to the study of life-history trade-offs in the Dark-eyed Junco, and was a beloved colleague, mentor, and teacher. Upon her retirement, the seminar room was named to honor Ellen’s critical role in establishing CISAB as a hub for animal behavior research and education on the Bloomington campus, and for nurturing its growth into an internationally-recognized center of excellence in the field of animal behavior.

CISAB Members can reserve the Seminar Room for classes and special events, such as talks, doctoral defenses, and committee meetings. The Ellen D. Ketterson Seminar room is equipped with an accessible 75" adjustable-height touchscreen monitor, conferencing system, PC and cabling for interfacing with a laptop.

The William J. Rowland Reading Room located upstairs in the CISAB house houses dozens of books in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, biology, and other related topics that were donated by the Rowland family and Professor Emeritus Bill Timberlake. Over 40 journal titles, including Animal Behavior and Memory & Cognition, are available for viewing upon request. The room was created in memory of Bill Rowland, beloved biology professor, mentor, colleague and friend. Bill was a founding member of CISAB and volunteered as director of the REU program from 1995 to 2004. He helped over 20 graduate students earn their doctoral degrees and was an enthusiastic researcher.

CISAB members can reserve the Rowland Room for small meetings. The room contains a conference table that seats 6 and is equipped with a PC and 55” touchscreen monitor, with cabling for interfacing with a laptop. Please note that the Rowland room can only be accessed via a staircase.
