PRESENTATION LENGTH
All talks are provided a 15 minute time slot that includes both a 12 minute presentation and 3 minutes for questions from the audience.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FORMATTING TALK SLIDES:
Please use the following recommended presentation formats to maximize compatibility with our AV equipment
Widescreen 16:9 slide format
Dark text on a light background
PowerPoint and Adobe PDF are recommended presentation programs. Supported file extensions include .ppt .pptx and .pdf
Keynote presentations are not recommended as they can cause screen flicker
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING TALK SLIDES:
Name your presentation file as follows: PresentationDay_PresentationTime_LastName_FirstName_OperatingSystem.FileExtension
For example: Fri_1100AM_Doe_John_Mac.pptx
Audio and video can be included in PowerPoint presentations.
Additionally, any supplementary audio or video files can be submitted in a zipped folder. Use the file name above and add “_Suppl” to the end of the file name.
For example: Fri_1100AM_Doe_John_Mac_Suppl.zip
After you have named your file(s) appropriately, send them to abconf@iu.edu
Please submit your files at least 24 hours before your presentation (i.e. if you are presenting at 2pm on Friday, March 27th, submit the final version of your slides by 2pm on Thursday, March 26th).
To make updates to a submitted presentation, repeat this process with the same filename. We will use the most recent version of the file. Please note that the final version must still be received 24 hours before your presentation. There is no guarantee we will be able to accommodate last-minute changes.
DAY OF PRESENTATION:
Please report to the speaker ready table 10 minutes before your talk to be fit with a microphone and check that we have the correct version of your presentation. This table will be located in the front of the presentation hall by the stage.
If you have any questions or scheduling conflicts, please email us as soon as possible (abconf@iu.edu).
