CISAB Lab Schedule of Fees

Current Rates

Rates include all supplies and reagents (charged at cost) unless otherwise noted. Kits and primers are purchased directly by the user in consultation with lab staff, as they are project‐specific.

Users are billed on a monthly basis. No “pre‐billing” for uncompleted work is allowed.

Endocrine Services

Ether‐based Extraction: $2.59 per sample
Standard Solvent Extraction: $1.82 per sample
Enzyme Immunoassay: $8.05 per plate (plus cost of kit)

Nucleic Acid Extraction

DNA Phenol/Chloroform: $1.23 per sample
DNA Spin Column Kit (includes ProtK): $0.44 per sample (plus cost of kit)

Gel Electrophoresis – Ethidium Bromide

Basic (No Ladder): $2.35 per gel
Small (1 ladder): $5.00 per gel
Dual Comb (2 ladders): $7.65 per gel

Gel Electrophoresis – SYBR Safe

Basic (No Ladder): $2.81 per gel

PCR

Standard 25ul‐ Tubes: $0.39 per reaction (plus cost of primers)
Standard 25ul‐ 96 Well Plate: $39.92 per plate (plus cost of primers)

Reverse Transcription and Quantitative PCR

cDNA Preparation (20ul; incl. DNase): $13.58 per sample

SYBR Green qPCR (25ul rxn): $1.00 per strip used + $0.76 per well (plus cost of primers)

qPCR 384 well plating (user provided dye): $58.47 (plus cost of primers and dye)

Users that wish to perform billable techniques will need to sign up for iLab to report their usage. The PI responsible for the grant to be billed will also need to register for iLab in order to confirm that their personnel may access certain IU grant funds for direct billing.
