- Fulfillment of the requirements of the Animal Behavior B.S.
- An overall G.P.A. of 3.3 or greater. Students must have this GPA to apply to the program, and must maintain it to graduate with honors.
- Approved research project in Animal Behavior, including at least six credits of independent research with a CISAB faculty thesis advisor (BIOL-L 490, ANTH-A496, COGS Q495, COGS Q499, PHYS-S 406, PSY-P 493, PSY-P 494, PSY-P 499). The research project and advisor should be pre-approved by the CISAB Director.
- A written thesis on the honors research project.
- Successful oral defense of the honors thesis certified by an appropriate honors thesis committee, consisting of three faculty members. At least two of the committee members must be CISAB faculty members (see the Animal Behavior Honors Agreement or the CISAB website).
- Honors students are expected to present their research at the spring Animal Behavior Conference. Exceptions may be granted with approval of the CISAB director.
